I am proud to be a 5th generation Coloradan and a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos and the University of Colorado Buffaloes. After studying finance and accounting at CU Boulder, I was preparing to work for a big 5 accounting firm when a newspaper listing for a commercial real estate position caught my attention. I was intrigued by the opportunities presented by real estate. Over the past two decades, I have developed expertise in complex problem solving, a deep understanding of commercial real estate underwriting and credit, and a diverse network of relationships. I am thankful that I applied to that posting and have thoroughly enjoyed working in commercial real estate lending, and more recently development, for the past 25+ years. I was thrilled to join NexCore in 2022 to lead the expansion of our debt and equity capital relationships. I focus on sourcing capital for our development efforts, overseeing debt placement, and managing lending relationships. I also lead the investor relationships group and oversee the management of our GP fund. I hold a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, and a Master’s Certificate in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I currently serve as an International Advisory Board Member for the University of Colorado Real Estate Center. I enjoy working and mentoring students pursuing real estate careers and contributing to the advancement of the field. I live in Denver with my wife Debbie, who is also a Colorado native, and our daughters, Avery and Teagan. When we aren’t supporting our kids’ swimming competitions, you can find us downhill skiing, hiking 14’ers, boating and camping, and of course attending Broncos and CU Buffs football games.
